The Music of Life – Connecting Hearts
Music has always been at the heart of Lightsong.
Throughout the year, we hope to continue offering occasional concerts, cultural evenings, sacred storytelling, poetry, and community gatherings that celebrate the beauty of our shared humanity. Rooted in the universal Sufi tradition and inspired by the world’s contemplative wisdom, these events invite us to pause, listen deeply, and remember what connects us beyond our differences.
Many of our earlier gatherings also supported humanitarian projects, including the Hope Project in India, founded by Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan. Today, we hope to continue in the same spirit—bringing people together through beauty, friendship, and the universal language of the heart.
Please visit our Calendar for upcoming gatherings, or join our mailing list by writing to lightsong@gmail.com.
Looking Back at Some Wonderful Events We Have Hosted
Since 2015, Lightsong Inayatiyya has offered concerts, cultural evenings, and community gatherings through The Music of Life. These events have brought together musicians, poets, storytellers, dancers, and friends from many spiritual and cultural traditions.
Over the years, gatherings have taken place at the Sufi Center in The Hague, the Soefi Huis in Haarlem, and other welcoming spaces. They have included Indian classical music, Persian ghazals, Turkish Sufi music, sacred chant, poetry, storytelling, contemplative dance, shared meals, and celebrations of friendship and community.
Proceeds from a number of these events supported humanitarian causes close to our hearts, including the Hope Project in India and Doctors Without Borders.
