About Saki Lee

For more than 40 years, Saki Lee has devoted her life to the contemplative path, accompanying others in the lifelong journey of healing, awakening, and spiritual transformation.

A devoted student of Pir Vilayat Inayat Khan since 1974, she continues to be inspired by his vision of a living, contemporary mysticism that awakens the deepest possibilities of the human heart. Through Lightsong – Inayatiyya, she offers retreats, pilgrimages, online courses, and spiritual guidance that invite people to discover a deeper, more wholehearted way of living.

Over the decades, her own journey has gradually become a meeting place of traditions. Rooted in the universal Sufi path, it has been deeply enriched by Christian mysticism—especially the Benedictine way of prayer, hospitality, and attentive listening—as well as by the healing wisdom of East Asian medicine and the quiet teachings of the natural world. Together, these streams have illuminated one another, revealing ever more deeply the unity that lies at the heart of authentic spiritual life.

At the center of her work is the alchemical journey first articulated by Pir Vilayat—a path of awakening that embraces every dimension of our humanity and gently reveals the deeper unity of body, mind, heart, soul, and spirit. Her retreats and courses weave together contemplative practice, sacred music, mystical poetry, the Dances of Universal Peace, silence, and embodied spiritual practice, creating spaces where deep inner transformation can unfold with both depth and joy.

Again and again, Saki has discovered that healing unfolds not through striving, but through deep listening—to ourselves, to one another, to the living earth, and to the Divine Presence that shines through all creation. The changing seasons have become among her greatest teachers, continually revealing that transformation is less about becoming someone new than about remembering the wholeness that has always been present within us.

Saki has served on the faculty of the Suluk Academy, founded by Pir Zia Inayat Khan, and is a cheraga (minister) in the Universal Worship, an interfaith service that honors the sacred wisdom found in all the world’s religious traditions.

For more than forty years, she worked as a licensed acupuncturist, herbalist, and somatic therapist. Today she brings this lifetime of experience into retreats, contemplative formation, spiritual accompaniment, and wellness coaching. Whether guiding an individual or a community, her deepest joy is creating spaces where people feel welcomed, nourished, and gently encouraged to discover their own innate wisdom, compassion, and capacity for wonder.

She warmly welcomes sincere seekers from every background to explore a contemplative way of life in which the wisdom of the heart, the great spiritual traditions, and the living book of nature become trusted companions on the journey toward healing, wholeness, and awakening.
